After choosing your server and Crusader class in Diablo Immortal, it’s finally time to dive into the action and start a new adventure in the turbulent lands of the game. The first minutes and even the first hours of the game are pretty straightforward, as new skills are unlocked as you level up. But you’ll end up with more skills than available slots, and you’ll have to choose.
You’ll find or unlock your first legendary items a little later, and it gets even more complicated. Here is a relatively simple first build, with the skills we recommend you use and the most useful legendary items during the leveling phase, either alone or in a group.
Main Attack: Punish
Ability 1: Spinning Shield
Skill 2: Shield Flash is replaced by Dismember at level 15. This will become your best skill, to be used to move quickly, surround enemies and deal damage.
Ability 3 – Consecration replaces Sweep Attack at level 20, and it’s a fantastic area attack that lingers on the ground.
Ability 4: Fulminating Sword (Level 8) is an excellent ability that combines instant damage, damage over time, and mobility when activated.
Ability rotation depends significantly on your positioning – cast Withering Sword, Consecration, Whirling Shields, then activate Withering Sword again. Then use Dismember to bunch up enemies while continuing to attack with Smite. You can also drag a group of enemies with you to form a vast group that can AoE effectively.
It’s unlikely you’ll find all of these items while leveling up, but it can sometimes justify changing a skill. Remember to improve your equipment as much as possible. Even if it is not legendary, you can transfer all this to the new items you will find and equip later.
Sivket’s Advantage – Increases magazine charge duration by 30%.
Bladed Jambeau – Dismember transforms into a flaming mount that burns enemies and leaves flames on the ground but no longer drags enemies behind you.
Little Spear – Fulminating Sword propels you forward up to three times while damaging enemies in your path.
Rank 10 of the Battle Pass gives you a choice between several Legendaries in the second hand. We advise you to choose Pavise of Ten Wings, one of the best Legendaries in the game since the Spinning Shields will rotate around you continuously instead of in straight lines.
Focus on damage (tourmaline, red gem) and armor penetration (sapphire, blue gem).
Unless you invest large sums, you won’t get many chances to choose your legendary gems or optimize them during the leveling phase. Use what you find at the moment.
General Crusader Tips
The Crusader is a powerful AoE class that offers crowd control, party buffs, and resilience. Because it has so many qualities. It is considered a good class for beginners but even better for veterans who know how to take advantage of these advantages more effectively, especially when it comes to PvP. But it’s not all rosy. After all, the Crusader relies heavily on the cooldown of his abilities to do anything. On top of that, his damage to single targets, like bosses, is pretty low compared to other classes.
How to level up the Crusader?
The tip is valid for any Diablo Immortal class: do the story missions until you get to a point where you need to fulfill some requirements to progress. Generally, this requirement is about having reached a certain level, so we recommend completing Battle Pass missions, which offer a lot of experience. This would be the fastest way to level up, but it’s not necessarily the most interesting.
If you’re looking for a more fluid experience, we recommend sticking with the story quests and embarking on optional activities whenever they arise, which include dungeons and lairs. That way, the chance of you getting to crash at a certain point is lower, and the game flow becomes more natural.
