There are many ways to gain power in Diablo Immortal, but know that the jeweler will work with the blacksmith to upgrade your armor pieces. This guide will go over everything there is to know about base gems, also known as normal gems. They don’t have as attractive bonuses as legendary gems, but they are much easier to obtain and upgrade, making them solid attribute bonuses.

Matching 2 gems of the same rank in the jewelry box will give you a higher rank gem. You can upgrade gems up to rank five this way, but you’ll need to buy Echo Crystals for Platinum or Honor to level higher. You can upgrade them to rank ten this way, but it’s a long-term goal. It takes a lot of playtimes to get max rank gems unless you invest large amounts of real money in the shop.

Grooves and color
You can have up to 14 slots to place normal gems. They can be socketed into amulets, rings, gloves, belts, and boots. These items can have between 1 and 3 slots depending on their type. The color of the sockets, and therefore the kind of gems that can be socketed within them, also depends on the type of item. The colors are red, blue and yellow. You cannot use only one kind of gem.
There are two gems for each color, so you can always choose between an offensive attribute and a defensive attribute for each hunting color.

How to get gems?
There are many ways to obtain gems. Without claiming to be exhaustive, here is a list:
